[Voiceglue] building voiceglue

So I'm finding building voiceglue a bit of a challenge.  What I would like
to know is what is the best (most likely to build for initial testing
*quickly*) option for an OS.

Centos 4 and Fedora 10 were both very poor choices for various reasons.
Suggestions?  I'm familiar with most versions of Linux so I am not
completely doctrinaire about it.
