Incidently, on a server release, I've had to change the build deps:
+"libmozjs-dev",
-"xulrunner-dev",
It now works. This tip originates from

No official release of voiceglue is supported on ubuntu 9.10.
However, yet again, you may get good results from the latest pre-release
of 0.12:
http://voiceglue.org/voiceglue_0.12alpha2.tar.gz
I'm using it primarily on Ubuntu 9.10 right now.
One particularly tricky thing about Ubuntu 9.10, however, is that its
package dependencies got messed up somewhat w.r.t. spidermonkey. It
should install cleanly on a server distribution, but it requires some
nasty hacks to get working on a desktop version.
